Graduation Ceremony 2024 for the CSCD Youth Academy

On Friday, October 11, 2024, we proudly celebrated the third successful year of the CSCD Youth Academy with an exclusive Graduation Ceremony for the 2024 graduates — a testament to the power of youth and their potential to shape the world in remarkable ways.

We extend our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the involved ambassadors, whose pivotal role in welcoming our students during 2024 was instrumental in paving the way for a new generation and the future of the exquisite art of diplomacy. Their guidance and support have been the cornerstone of this year’s success, and we are deeply honoured to have such prominent and exclusive patrons as our collaborative partners for this year’s semesters and for the exclusive Graduation Ceremony. We could not have done this without you, and we are forever grateful.

Highlights from the CSCD Youth Academy Fall Semester 2024

During the fall of 2024, we continued the exciting journey through diplomacy, offering 24 new students a unique chance to improve their diplomatic skills and knowledge of international affairs. They got to meet prominent foreign ambassadors in Copenhagen for rare one-on-one conversations, an opportunity to widen their network, and met like-minded people in settings where knowledge and interests in international affairs were at the front. We are humbled that so many talented and bright top students from Danish Universities chose to participate.

The CSCD Youth Academy Fall Semester 2024 was made possible with immense and highly valued support from all involved ambassadors and embassies, who generously and warmheartedly opened their doors for our top students. Their Excellencies the Ambassadors greeted our students and showed them the inside world of diplomacy, firsthand.

We are deeply grateful for the warm reception, and our students have reported back that they gained highly valued new knowledge. They had an experience that made a lasting impression and will stay with them on their path to their promising careers as the future Danish Diplomats, Policy Makers, and Stake Holders of Denmark.

Graduation Ceremony 2024

By the end of the semester, we celebrated with a Graduation Ceremony for the CSCD Youth Academy students of 2024, who received their certificates of completion on this day.

Going forward, we will proceed the successful collaboration with the student organisations ID (the biggest student association @University of Copenhagen), POLIS (Political students’ organisation @Aalborg University), IBP (International Business and Politics @CBS) and ELSA (The European Law Students’ Association @Copenhagen). It is an honour to continue the fruitful and valuable work with such highly engaged and agenda-setting student organisations.

Further, we are currently in the process of making arrangements with several ambassadors for the upcoming spring semester, and we are continually humbled and deeply grateful that they so generously agree to open their doors for our talented students from Danish Universities. We look forward to reveal more as we approach the next semester.

We are thrilled to announce that the application window is now open for admission to the CSCD Youth Academy Fall Semester of 2024!

After three successful years and 5 semesters with no less than 29 embassy visits to 28 unique countries, we continue the exclusive journey through diplomacy and invite you to a brand-new semester with five unique and exciting embassy visits!

This semester, the Youth Academy facilitates five brand new and exclusive embassy visits in Copenhagen, in close collaboration with selected student organisations and CSCD, to present you with unique meetings, one-on-one conversations with prominent ambassadors, and meetings with diplomats, politicians, and researchers.

As a student you get to meet like-minded people, while we invite you to the front row of diplomacy and an opportunity for rare direct hands-on experience in diplomatic and international relations. This gives you a fantastic supplement to the more theoretical knowledge from university.

The fall semester runs from mid-August to mid-October, and to be accepted, we kindly ask you to write a motivated application letter of 400-500 words, no later than the application deadline of August 11th, 2024.

Both students and young professionals can apply and we urge everyone, both Danish and International students to apply.

The Application Window is open for the CSCD Youth Academy – Spring Semester of 2024

We are thrilled to announce that the application window is now open for admission to the CSCD Youth Academy!

In close collaboration with selected student organisation, the semester facilitates five brand new and exclusive embassy visits in Copenhagen, with the opportunity for unique meetings and one-on-one conversations with prominent ambassadors, as well as meetings with diplomats, politicians, and researchers.

As a student, you get expert knowledge and rare direct hands-on experience with diplomacy, which is a fantastic supplement to the theoretical knowledge from university.

The semester runs from mid-February to mid-April, and to be accepted, we kindly ask you to write a motivated application letter of 400-500 words, no later than the application deadline February 11th, 2024. We encourage both students and young professionals to apply.

Highlights from the CSCD Youth Academy Award Ceremony 2023

On Thursday the 12th of October 2023, we celebrated the second successful year of the CSCD Youth Academy with an exclusive Award Ceremony for the graduates of 2023 as a testament to the power of youth and their potential to shape the world in remarkable ways. We want to take this special opportunity to share with you highlights from the special ceremony.

Upon arrival at the Award Ceremony, distinguished Ambassadors and guests were cordially welcomed.

The exclusive ceremony was a magnificent celebration of the future of diplomacy, leadership, and global change, all made possible by a  collaborative effort between CSCD (Center of Science & Commercial Diplomacy), the CSCD Youth Academy, the esteemed Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Denmark, His Excellency Mr. Conrado Solari-Yrigoyen, Ambassador of Argentina to Denmark, and the distinguished Ambassadors who have gracefully received our students during the Spring and Fall Semesters of 2023.

The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Denmark, His Excellency Mr. Conrado Solari-Yrigoyen, addressed the guests with a keynote address and special welcome.

During the Award Ceremony, the involved Ambassadors from the Spring and Fall Semesters of 2023, presented the hand-signed graduation certificates to our bright students and outstanding graduates.

To conclude the special occasion, the ceremony was followed by a mesmerizing music performance by Soprano Yinuo Wang, who captivated all with her heavenly voice, and the eminent Polish violinist Nicole Bronder who gave a fantastic performance exquisite to the ear.

After an afternoon of celebration and delicate cuisine with exquisite drinks, in the fabulous surroundings of Restaurant MASH in Charlottenlund, we were all full of hope for the future and fueled by the passion of youth. We want to thank all involved embassies, ambassadors, and diplomats once again, for their unforgettable and warm-hearted welcome into their embassies and the overwhelming support we have received.

Our world faces complex challenges, and this event showcased the bright minds that will shape the future of diplomacy, policy-making, and global leadership. Their passion, creativity, and dedication are a true inspiration and invitation to never stop talking and always seek diplomatic solutions.

We are now in full preparations for the CSCD Youth Academy Spring Semester of 2024 as well as upcoming conferences for the spring of 2024. More information will follow soon, and in the meantime, we wish you all a wonderful day as we look forward to welcoming you to future events with food for thoughts and exquisite delicacies to boost your hunger and quench your thirst for knowledge.

CSCD Youth Academy is open for applications – Fall Semester of 2023

The CSCD Youth Academy launched its first semester in the spring of 2022. Since then, we have had 3 successful semesters, with visits to Embassies from no less than 18 different countries. We are honoured to have been received with open arms and the distinguished Ambassadors from the respective countries, have warm-heartedly and with the utmost grace and dedication, received our talented top students from Danish Universities – giving our students a unique opportunity to gain invaluable insights into the fine art of diplomacy while obtaining hands-on experience and practical knowledge to enhance their future careers.

It is therefore with deepfelt gratitude that we after intense preparations are now receiving applications to a new and exciting semester for the Fall of 2023, where we will have no less than 6 new and exciting Embassy Visits.

Black Sea Security Conference in the Danish Parliament – January 12th, 2023

We are excited to present a conference on Black Sea Security, in close collaboration with the Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee in the Danish Parliament, Mr. Michael Aastrup Jensen, and the Georgian Embassy in Denmark – exclusively through CSCD’s Ambassadors Lounge.

The conference will bring together prominent Members of parliament, as well as distinguished Ambassadors, Diplomats, Defence-attachés, Government and Civil Society Representatives, Business Representatives, and Experts to allow for a frank exchange of views on the challenges and opportunities in the Black Sea Region and their implications for various aspects of broader European security.

We have invited a broad range of speakers to discuss and share their vast knowledge through a series of talks followed by panel discussions. We are honoured to welcome:

  • MP Mr. Michael Aastrup Jensen, Chairman of the Danish Parliament’s Foreign Policy Committee, with a keynote speech.
  • Distinguished Ambassadors to Denmark from the Black Sea countries of Bulgaria, Georgia, Türkiye, Ukraine, and Romania with an exclusive ambassadorial panel discussion.
  • We are further honoured to expand the ambassadorial panel with the Ambassador of Poland to Denmark, due to Poland’s significant role in the Three Sea Initiative, and the Ambassador of the USA to Denmark, as key strategic partners.
  • Prominent representatives of the respective countries.
  • Heads of International Organizations – WHO Regional Office Europe, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, BSEC.
  • As well as prominent representatives from Danish Business community and institutions, to give expert talks.
  • All will be supplemented by a research angle from leading Experts and Advisors and our renowned moderator, Ms. Charlotte Flindt Pedersen, Executive Director of the Foreign Policy Society.

The talks will be under the Chatham House Rule, followed by a Q&A session and networking with refreshments.

Security in the Black Sea Region and Implications for Europe: What has Changed?

Russia’s ongoing full-scale military aggression against Ukraine has dramatically changed security environments in the wider Black Sea Region and has sharpened attention on global security challenges. Consequently, the Black Sea Region has moved into the center of European and international focus as the ongoing war in the region threatens not only European security architecture but creates serious political and economic implications for the stability of the entire World.  The conference offers a unique opportunity to discuss and gain insights on political temperatures going forward in the quest for peace and stability.

CSCD Youth Academy Highlights

After intense preparations, our newest initiative, CSCD Youth Academy, was launched this spring. The first 23 candidates were accepted, and we are humbled that so many talented and bright top students from Danish universities wished to participate in the first, unique semester of the CSCD Youth Academy.

We are currently preparing to welcome new bright and promising students, and the application window for the upcoming semester is open. The preparations for the new program are in close collaboration with the involved embassies (See more on the upcoming semester below).

By the end of the successful Conference on Cyber Security, we had a graduation ceremony for the CSCD Youth Academy students, that received their certificates of completion on this day.

We continue the successful collaboration with the student organisations ID (the biggest student association at @University of Copenhagen) and POLIS (Political students’ organisation @Aalborg University) and have further expanded with two more student organisations: IBP (International Business and Politics @CBS) and ELSA (The European Law Students’ Association @Copenhagen).
