Edward Telles is Distinguished Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and he is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His CSCD activities are geographically focused on the USA, Latin America, South America, and the EU.

He is affiliated with the Departments of Sociology, Global Studies and Iberian and Latin American Studies.

His research interests are on ethnic inequalities, particularly across the Americas.

His work includes several award winning books and he has been published in leading academic journals.

His first book, Race in Another America: The Significance of Skin Color in Brazi,l won the Distinguished Publication Award from the American Sociological Association.

He is currently examining immigration, trade and U.S. Mexico relations.
